About the Commercial RFP

We seek qualified local entrepreneurs and business owners with a passion for community impact, to propose how they would utilize these spaces to contribute to Mattapan’s cultural and economic vitality. This project includes three newly constructed buildings with a total of 3,000 square feet of commercial space across three distinct sites. 
Our intention is to sell two of the commercial spaces to local entrepreneurs.

Our Ideal Applicant

  • Provide community-centered services or products

  • Understand the Mattapan/Greater Mattapan area and its unique needs

  • Demonstrate a strong vision for contributing to the neighborhood

  • Demonstrate financial viability

  • Have a sustainable revenue model and business plan

Desired Business Types Include but are not limited to:

  • Arts and Cultural Spaces

  • Cafés or social gathering spaces

  • Community-focused office space

  • Creative studios, galleries, or spaces for local artists

Selected businesses will be expected to create an environment that fosters collaboration, cultural enrichment, and accessibility

The Community Advisory Committee (CAC) will guide the selection of qualified small businesses for the commercial spaces. The committee will focus on creating an inclusive, equitable selection process and assist with outreach to maximize community engagement.
